This exchange has been kind of a rollercoaster ride for me. As the final days of the exchange approach everyone here finds it difficult to say goodbye and let go of the friendships, we have made during these past 4 months. During my first days in Graz, I felt out of place when I first stepped into my apartment and met my flat mates. I had to adjust to being independent such as doing your own groceries and making your own food etc. However, human beings can get used to anything and therefore, I also got more and more comfortable with this lifestyle and now when I come back to Pakistan, I will have to readjust to my old lifestyle which is also going to be a big challenge.

During this exchange, I met people from more than 15 nationalities, travelled 12 countries, and around 25 cities. This has allowed me to gain a better understanding of how the world works and how people from different parts of the world live following various cultures and religions. I also got to try food from a lot of different countries which was one of my most favorite things on this exchange. Travelling and meeting new people has change my way of thinking about approaching life as a whole and what I want to achieve from my life.

I studied 6 courses during this exchange and each one of them encouraged group work and interaction with my peers which helped a lot with making new friendships and getting to learn more about each other. There were some courses like Cross Cultural Entrepreneurial Perspectives, International marketing which took a more international approach to some topics I have studied in LUMS which was quite interesting and very fun to learn. While there where other courses such as Enterprise resource learning which focused on a developing our practical skills which I found very useful to learn.

This exchange has given me memories that I will never be able to forget and cherish for life. All of us of this exchange came from completely different worlds and even then, we found common ground with other, became friends and each other’s support system. Now the time of our departure is nearing, and I have made friends here who feel like family which is very sad but also very beautiful at the same time.
