The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) Scholarship Information Session:

On January 26th, the OIA hosted the eagerly anticipated USEFP Scholarship Information Session, attracting numerous students interested in exploring available opportunities. The session began with detailed insights into various scholarships, with a focus on the Fulbright Scholarship. USEFP representatives, Ayesha and Noor, explained the application process thoroughly, ensuring clarity for all attendees. An interactive Q&A segment allowed students to engage directly with the representatives. Notably, the session included an announcement of free personalized guidance sessions for applicant

OIA Open House Spring 2024:

Open house, the Bi-Annual event of OIA held on the 16th of February, provided valuable guidance for students interested in semester exchange opportunities. The OIA team detailed the application process, highlighted diverse destinations, and shared key tips for successful applications. Students received a step-by-step breakdown of the application journey, equipping them to navigate deadlines and requirements confidently. The team showcased a variety of destinations across Asia and Europe, each offering unique cultural and academic experiences. A Q&A session followed, allowing students to seek personalized guidance on CGPA requirements, course options, application forms, interview preparation, credit transfers, visas, and accommodations.

 
 

Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s visit:

The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Oybek Arif Usmanov, along with Mr. Najeeb Mushtaq Vohra, Honorary Consulate General and Mr. Bakhrom Yusupov, Trade and Economic Counsellor, visited LUMS on the 4th of April and met the Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Cheema to discuss various partnership avenues as well as joint research opportunities along with Exchange Opportunities for the students, staff and faculty at LUMS.

Pakistan Education Expo by HEC 2024:

The Office of International Affairs took part in a Roadshow organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo. Held in Kandy and Colombo, Sri Lanka, from May 11th to May 15th, 2024, the roadshow included university visits, educational expos, and awareness sessions aimed at promoting the Allama Iqbal Scholarships, which Pakistan has been offering to Sri Lankan students since 2018. Through this collaboration, LUMS has previously recruited and funded four Sri Lankan students to study at the Suleman Dawood School of Business and the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law. The roadshow concluded with a grand event in Colombo on May 15th, attracting a large crowd of Sri Lankan students, parents, and dignitaries. The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Maj Gen (retd.) Faheem ul Aziz, emphasized the strong educational ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. LUMS and other leading Pakistani universities showcased their academic offerings to prospective students, while the HEC team detailed the objectives of the Educational Expo 2024 and provided information about the scholarship program.

 
 

Kent University visited LUMS:

On May 17th, Ms. Emma Spittles along with Ms. Ayesha Noor visited the OIA to explore and discuss potential partnership opportunities along with a Virtual Information Session for students to announce and inform them about the Scholarship incentive offered by the University of Kent exclusively to LUMS students. Ms. Spittles expressed keen interest in developing a partnership with LUMS and focused on exchange opportunities for the students, staff, and faculty.
