LUMS

LUMS and Aga Khan University (AKU) signed a landmark five-year MoU, combining AKU's strengths in health sciences and public health with LUMS' expertise in technology, data science, and public policy. Signed by AKU Provost Dr. Tania Bubela and LUMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Cheema, in the presence of LUMS Rector Mr. Shahid Hussain, AKU Vice Provost Research Dr. Salim Virani, and Dr. Farid Panjwani, Dean of AKU's Institute for Educational Development, the MoU marks a significant step in interdisciplinary collaboration between two of Pakistan's leading institutions.

The partnership will drive joint research and academic initiatives addressing climate resilience, mental health, antimicrobial resistance, AI for public good, and inclusive development. Through experiential learning, joint programs, and engagement with policymakers and civil society, both institutions aim to translate research into meaningful impact for communities across Pakistan and beyond.

This collaboration reflects a shared belief that Pakistan's most pressing challenges demand cross-disciplinary thinking, and stands as a powerful testament to what Pakistani academia can achieve when its leading institutions build meaningful partnerships.
