LUMS at the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor Education Expo

The Office of International Affairs represented LUMS at the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor Education Expo held across five major cities in Bangladesh; Dhaka, Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Chittagong in May 2026. Organized by the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, the expo brought together representatives from 20 leading Pakistani universities to promote higher education opportunities and expanding academic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The expo was part of a commendable initiative by the Government of Pakistan to support educational cooperation through the provision of 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students, creating new pathways for students to pursue higher education in Pakistan and further promoting academic engagement. The Dhaka event was also attended by the Education Minister of Bangladesh, who appreciated the participation of Pakistani universities in this important initiative, and expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan High Commission, The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Government of Pakistan for this remarkable initiative for Bangladeshi students.

The events witnessed an overwhelming student turnout across all cities, reflecting strong interest in educational opportunities in Pakistan. Students actively engaged with Ms. Hadia Khosa, our Global Engagement Specialist, to learn more about academic programs, admissions, scholarships, and campus life at LUMS. A particularly encouraging aspect of the engagement was the strong recognition of LUMS among Bangladeshi universities, with many vice chancellors, faculty members, institutional representatives, and even government officials already familiar with the University and its academic reputation. This existing awareness generated even greater interest among students and resulted in highly engaging interactions throughout the expo.

Through its participation, LUMS further strengthened its visibility in Bangladesh while reaffirming its commitment to advancing international partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, and collaborative opportunities across the region.
