University Leaders from Bangladesh Visit LUMS

LUMS recently welcomed a high-level delegation of university leaders and senior officials from Bangladesh in a visit aimed at building stronger academic ties between the two countries. Facilitated by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and headed by Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh, the delegation included Vice Chancellors from leading public and private Bangladeshi universities.
The delegation sat down with LUMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Cheema, Provost Dr. Tariq Jadoon, deans, and faculty for discussions that covered a broad range of collaborative pathways, including research partnerships, student exchanges, executive education and joint academic programs.
The visit comes at a pivotal time when LUMS has been steadily expanding its exposure in Bangladesh, through participating in HEC Expos in Dhaka, Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Chittagong, signing an MoU with North South University, and maintaining continued ties with the University of Chittagong.
Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed commended LUMS for its hospitality and spoke of the visit as an opportunity to open new avenues of academic partnership. The visit reinforced a shared commitment between both nations to build lasting institutional connections that benefit students and universities on either side.
