Exploring Postgraduate Study Opportunities in Ireland

On February 12, 2025, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Career Services Office (CSO) at LUMS collaboratively hosted an insightful session focusing on postgraduate study opportunities and scholarships in Ireland. The event featured representatives from prominent Irish institutions, providing LUMS students with valuable guidance on academic opportunities, funding options, and career prospects in Ireland’s top universities.

Distinguished Speakers:

• Nusrat Bashir: Regional Director for the Greater Middle East & Africa at University College Dublin (UCD), who offered in-depth insights into UCD's postgraduate programs and scholarship opportunities.
• Carole Deering: International Officer at the National College of Ireland (NCI), who provided an overview of NCI's offerings and guidance on the application process.
• Dr. Afra Sajjad: An education consultant with extensive experience in international higher education.

Each speaker delivered comprehensive presentations on their respective institutions, covering key aspects such as program structures, areas of research excellence, campus facilities, and the vibrant cultural experiences awaiting students in Ireland. They also detailed various scholarship schemes designed to support international students financially.  

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to an interactive Q&A session. Students engaged directly with the speakers, posing questions about application procedures, eligibility criteria, and the nuances of student life in Ireland.
