Abdullah Gul University

Abdullah Gül University was named after the 11th president of the Turkish Republic, Abdullah Gül, who has accepted this honor, for the university is being dedicated to the quest to become a distinguished high-quality university in Turkey and be able to compete with international institutions. The Abdullah Gül University (AGU) ranked among the best universities (101-200) in the 2019 and 2020 Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings. 

In 2020, AGU was the only Turkish Higher Education institution to be ranked #101-200.  

In 2021, Abdullah Gül University (AGU) has earned international success and become the only Turkish university to be placed, for three consecutive years, in the 101-200 range of the University Impact Ranking of Times Higher Education, one of the most prestigious higher education ranking organisations.  

In 2022, Abdullah Gül University (AGU) was placed in the world's top 300 universities in the 2022 Impact Rankings of the Times Higher Education, one of the most prestigious ranking organizations. In addition, AGU also ranked 29 globally in the category of "Quality Education."  

AGU was listed among the world's most successful universities in this ranking, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), in which, 1406 universities from 106 countries participated.  

AGU obtained best scores in the following SDGs: a Quality Education, 11-Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12-Responsible Consumption & Production, and a 17-Partnerships for the Goals. 

This new international recognition reflects the great emphasis placed by AGU on Societal Impact since the university establishment in 2010. It also echoes AGU commitment to meeting the United Nations SDGs, and relentless dedication to achieving all 3 University Missions: Education, Research and particularly Societal Impact, the cornerstone of the AGU New Generation University Model.
